Pre- and post-processors

BECAS includes and interfaces with a series of pre- and post-processors:

  • BECAS includes a series of pre-processors to help you build your BECAS model based on information contained in a finite element shell model (see ShellExpander) or input based on airfoil coordinates (see Airfoil2BECAS).
  • BECAS results can be post-processed in PARAVIEW, an open-source data analysis and visualization application.
  • BECAS can be interfaced from ANSYS Composite PrepPost.
  • BECAS can be used in the OpenMDAO thanks to the BECASWrapper

Figure 1 shows how BECAS is used to generate an accurate beam finite element model of a wind turbine blade. Models of this kind are routinely used for the aeroelastic simulation of wind turbines.
